We recommend that to keep your bike lock in top working order that you will need to clean & lubricate your lock every couple of months. This means cleaning the lock-pins, dead-bolts, shackle and cylinders of any rust, dirt and grime. The best way to clean your lock is to use a damp cloth/rag to clean away any grime or scum and then use a wax based lubricant with TEFLON to lubricate the above mentioned parts of the lock. Test the lock by inserting the keys, turning and locking/unlocking several times to ensure the lubricate penetrates all areas sufficiently. You're then good to go. Repeat this process every couple of months to keep your bike lock in perfect working condition. |
